Don't have a lot of info on either one but the times I have tried both brands out, I seem to like the Istanbul stuff better. The Bosphorus stuff just doesn't appeal to me. Being able to play & hear is the best advice I can give to you. Cymbals can be a very individual type thing. Sorry, I know this doesn't help much.

I had a pair of istanbul hi hats once. Best sounding cymbals i ever had. Very expensive though.

yes offcourse..
i just dont want to start spamming all around since there was asked for istanbul and bosphorus cymbals, not every forum is happy with that if ya know what I mean

Anyway www.masterworkcymbal.com or the german/dutch www.masterworkcymbals.de

Masterwork is a realtive newcommer out of Istanbul, offering different favours then the already "known" istanbul brands.
In my opinion more "up to date" cymbals(more fresh) whch will fit fine in nowerdays pop music.
Next to that they have an excellent jazz line in the jazzpointer and jazzmaster series.

I ve visited the factory but I m sure mic has some excellent videos and pics to show us all.(you have my permission Mic )

In the Us you can also look for Buzin ,which are comming from the same factory..
Drumconection in LA offers those and have quit a bunch..

Default Istanbul Mehmet's...

I have 5 Istanbul Mehmet's.
Forget about Bosphorus and the Agop line is not as sweet sounding.
Mehmet Tamdeger makes some of the most miraculous cymbals in the world. His brother Agop, makes good cymbals but not nearly as good.
Bosphorus are made by Tamdeger's students who went to go on there own and their work does not compare. Cherie Willoughby at Repercussions.com offers the best deals and variety. Totaly cool to deal with. Tell her Sta sent ya.
These cymbals (Mehmet) are very complex and musically unique.
I own over 40 cymbals. Paiste Sig's and Trad's, Sabian, Zyl's, and the fabulous UFIP Class, Bionic and Experience series.
Istanbul Mehmet's stand out with rich, lush tonality. Do yourself a favor and chek them out.

I dont think its fair to say one of the turkish companies stands out since they all offer very good cymbals.
I prefer to call it different not better or worse, althought Mehmet and Agop tend to offer the same types of cymbals.
Bosporus and especially Masterwork do offer there own designs, again thas not better or worse thats different, thats taste..
