Thumbs up Drummers' Hang

Woodstick '06 is on Saturday, May 13th in Seattle.

I'll be hosting a Drummers' Hang the nite before at Legends in West Seattle.

My band, Smoke N Blues ALLSTARS will be playing.

So come and relax, trade stories, tell lies and sit in with the band.

There will be give a ways and Door Prizes.

Most likely 5 pieces: ride, hats, splash, two crashes and a "tree" of FMP stuff.

Gotta have something "extra" for the fun of it.

Smoky: step away from the ice pipe...
Less IS More...how many times I gotta tell you that?
factory metal? why? Just have someone bring some pots & pans and a skillet to bang on. It'll sound just the same.

Default More is More

I can't help it................I cut my teeth on Tony Williams, King Crimson, Mahavisnu, Stanley Clark, and a few other fusion and prog bands.

Here is the tree I'm talkin' about.

Actually, I hardly play this stuff. I'll play an EFX "toy" once or twice a night in a song ....and usually during a solo. Like Oregano, or Serrano Peppers, a little goes a long way.

My DW 5520 hi hat has an "extra" pedal set up with an LP Cha-Cha (Black Beauty?) cowbell.......some nights I don't play it at all.

That's why I NEVER set up a china cymbal at a jam....jammer drummmers will play that thing on EVERY song

Then why drag it out?
Cmon, Smokester...
A real Bluesman would never bang on junk metal.
The only reason to cart this stuff around would be for a
Sanford & Son Tribute Band.

In that case I'm "not real."

Do the sunglasses on the snare send a message,
like "Hey, where did Smoke go?"
