I curently own a Roland SPD-6 percussion pad. I've been able to everything i've wanted to do with the sounds except for one thing. I'm looking to play some samples inbetween songs, noises and ambient stuff. The SPD-6 can't really do it, so i'm wondering about adding on via the midi cord. I'm thinking a sampler run through the midi or some sort of drum module. I'm wanting to have one patch to play the between song samples and the rest for the internal sound that i'm already using. Does any one have any experience with this, any recomendations, is it even possible.
Thanks in advance.

I don't know much about that unit. but, I'm confused. You want the unit to play some background sounds for a period of time? If there is a "demo", you could just invoke that.
Or, hit a pad, which sends a MIDI command via the midi cable to another unit? Like a keyboard and let it play a patch?
Google on Roland US. then, select products. look up your unit and see what Roland says about it. Also, download the owners manual, if you don't have it. Look up 'demo' 'change commands' 'midi' etc.

The spd-6 is really basic. There is no demo, it only plays the internal sounds. I'm wanting to use to trigger other sounds from another source but also play some of the internal sounds. I'm pretty new to electronic stuff.

download the spd manual and look over it for 'sending change....'. What you want to do, is maybe switch the spd to a new kit, kit the pad. it sends Midi 99, or something, out the midi cable. Your other brain is sitting there and when ever it gets a Midi 99, it plays a sequence. Look for "kit change' stuff like that.
