Dual zone as in the cymbal-body and the bell?

I wonder if it would simply be a matter of placing a separate trigger on the bell of the practice cymbal. If course, there is the issue of cross-chatter.

Heck, I'm no electrical enginneer . . . but I'm sure it can be (and has been) done.

In the meantime, here is some info on creating a "bell trigger" as a supplement to your eCymbal.

Ahhh - that has DEFINITELY been done.
It's simply a matter of triggering the rim.

Check out the following link ....
http://users.pandora.be/philippe.ceuppens3/DIYdrum/index.htm

At the bottom of the section where he describes how he built his eTrigger for the shell, he mentions how he attached a separate trigger to the hoop for rim shots and the like. I know you can also buy rubber tubing to cut and lay over the hoop rim (similar to the rims of the V-Drums).
