Let's set up these pies:

13" Mist Series Medium hats:

Clear cutting "chick" good stick articulation very sweet wash
super sweet heal splashes

The bottom cymbal isn't thick & heavy....it's only a touch heavier than the top.

20" Mist Medium Ride

Bright, but not too. Clear tones with a "hint" of dirt. Nice ping sitting on a slight wash, will open up when "shanked"....very controllable and expressive. The wash never builds up to obscure the ping when riding

Clear musical bell. **No "clank" or anvil sounds here**

Mixes very well with the 13" hats....no drop off when switching from one to the other

EFX:

10" Mist thin splash: Airy with a touch of "dirt" good volume for a small pie

6" Voodoo EX Bell: Clear cutting note, moderate sustain.

28" Voodoo China Ride

This is one bad mamma jamma!

Ride sounds: Old K on steroids
Crash sound: the classic "china" crash...only HUGE
played with mallets: close your eyes and it's a gong!

Crashes:

14" & 16" Thin Dark
18" Medium

I don't care what the letters say....these are a matched set

They have an even interval **Do-Me-So** and sound like siblings.

They speak quickly and "get out of the way" the sustain increases proportionately with size. They have a clear crash with a hint of dirt

Musical bells, smooth swells when played with mallets.

I've NEVER got a whole set of pies at once. I never got a set of pies that worked so well together without a lot of trial and error.

I've been playing mostly UFIP 13" hats, K Custom crashes, K or Wuhan China, and K or Bosphorous rides for awhile now.

I knew the Mists would be brighter but I didn't expect the "hint" of dirt or slightly dark undertones. Jamie picked the EXACT pies I specified.
**And you know I went into detail**

I asked for pies that I could play electric blues at moderate to loud volumes. Jamie will get you the cymbals that YOU ask for that fit YOUR style and musical needs.

Even if I didn't have an endorsement.........I'd still play Saluda.

Next time: On the gig with Saluda
