A while back, I went to an event at Columbus Pro Percussion called "The Vault" sponsored by Sabian, where they showed off prototype cymbals. At the end there was a clinic with Dom Famularo (I've mentioned this before).
Well, I had a question about his china cymbal technique. He has one china cymbal set up almost vertical on his right side, and behind that there is a larger china set up flat. At the clinic, when he played the china set up vertical, it looked like he would play almost a flam with his right hand on it; it looked like he tapped the cymbal with the butt of the stick and then hit again with the shoulder of the stick, but really it looked like one fluid motion.
Can anyone confirm this?
