Just arrived in the post today (except for 2 chinas at the bottom of the pic).

Looking forward to playing these. If they sound half as good as they look I'm gonna love 'em. Ok, so it's not on the Dave Fender scale of things......

Big big thanks to Jamie @ Saluda. Great guy, very helpful and friendly. I'd recommend dealing with him anytime.

Apologies for the crappy photo, but I'll be taking better pics soon.

I'll be ordering a crash soon to see how I like the Saluda sound, and by the way people talk about Saluda, I'll end up buying a whole new setup from them. :)

Well, played these at rehearsal last night as we have a gig with The Moonie Suzuki coming up (apparently they're the next big thing in the garage scene and were recently on the BBC - personally I don't really like 'em, but hey......).

The hi-hats are 13" rock hats. I wanted smaller ones as I prefer a more 'crisp' feel. These cut through beautifully. Nice and trashy sounding when open and very crisp when closed. The 16" china totally blew me away. I set this up in a more conventional way rather than the traditional 'upside' down china fashion. This is a great cymbal. Very loud but with a short decay and a cross between a traditional china sound and small crash. The 17" and 18" medium crashes are exactly what I asked Jamie for. Trashy sounding, short decay and loud. The 19" crash / ride is again exactly what I was after. Depending on how I used it, i.e. heavy hitting, it crashed through everything but had a more traditional 'ping' sounding on lighter playing. The bell also cuts through nice and loudly. This was the one I was most concerned about given what I like and the style of music my band plays but it was just right. The 19" china crash is a beast. Big big sound. Coupled with the 24" china ride, these 2 make a hell of a racket and don't need hitting particularly hard for them to cut through. It was fun alternating between these 2 and making a real row!

Ok, so I'm not particularly good at describing this kind of thing but I hope you get the gist. These cymbals totally rule! If you're considering getting into Saludas, do so! I'm really, really impressed with them.

Big thanks Jamie again. He got it just right.
