Hi. I'm new here.. I heard about Saluda cymbals and this site over at the Pearl Drums forum from Smoke N Drums. Anyway.. I'm looking for a new cymbal setup and I've been thinking about trying Saluda. I play mostly rock/punk/metal and I am a pretty hard hitter. I looked on Saluda's site and didn't see any artists that share my playing styles/genres. So do you guys think Saluda would fit my needs?

I have yet to try the Saludas, but virtually everyone in this forum that has tried them ended up buying one.
Except Dfender--he bought them ALL!!!!

Matt on this forum as well as PJ Clevenger (timekeep69- he's on the Pearl Forum I belive) play rock/metal and are Saluda endorsers. I myself play metal, rock and punk and use all Saludas and they sound great in that kind of situation. All of the Mist series cut through very well. The crashes are bright sounding with some dark overtones, I have two 18" ones, a medium and a rock. I think Saluda is worth a try drop Jamie from Drum Gear Online an e mail and pick up a crash or something; there prices are very reasonable.
I alsways thought this recording did Saluda cymbals a good amount of justice http://www.saludacymbals.com/mattbrown.mp3

you can describe the sound you are going for and he(jamie) will pick out a cymbals that matches your specs.

Yeah, I sent Jamie an email and he told me to go with the Mist series.
I think I'm gonna order a crash and see how I like it, then order the rest of my cymbals. :)

I play all Saludas, and I love 'em. I also host blues jams, and other drummers get up and play my kit. EVERYONE that has played my kit has been amazed at the Saludas, and several of them have purchased Saludas from Jamie, who, I might add, is a total pro at customer service. The best!

Thanks Dave, and Smoke! I'm a pretty accomplished graphic designer....if I design my kick drum head, what will it cost me to get it applied? Sounds like a cool idea!
