I saw that...only on certain models but cool anyways.

I am not a Paiste guy but wasn't it the sound formulas the cymbals they had problems with cracking.
years back I got turned off with Piaste's customer service so I've stayed away. I do really dig the 20" Signature Dry crisp ride!

Frank, honestly I dont know if there was a problem with the Sound Formula line. The 18in full crash I had lasted quite awile before it cracked.

As for the customer service...I totaly understand why that would turn you away. Paiste doesnt seem to be as "hands on" in terms of dealing with Joe Q Citizen when issues arise. Parhaps Kanbasher can share his story of the "Mysterious Splash Crack", and what he had to do to get satisfaction. When the dust settled, Paiste did step up.

I feel like Paiste prefers to maintain a manufacturer/dealer relationship with their products. The same way you would deal with the dealership if your car breaks down. In this case, if the dealer stinks, it reflects badly on them as well.

In the end, I pick Paiste purely on sound. If I buy a Paiste through a store, I make sure to buy from West Coast Drum, or West L.A. Music. simply because they honor the warantees without any grief. Thay actualy support the product they sell! What a concept!

The paiste I bought and broke was purchased at Sam Ash and thier response was paiste wont replace so they wont. wasnt the first time I heard that either, and 20 years later I heard the same. As I said before I like the dry crisp ride but very hesitant to buy because of the bad expierence. :?
