Here's the band that I plan in
"Thank You, Spaceman"
It's a two piece indie rock kind of thing

our myspace deal is:
www.myspace.com/thankyouspaceman
there's some sound samples there

Oh, pictures by George Blalock
shots are from the club "the evening muse" in Charlotte, NC
it was easy to get nice pics, since there wasn't people at the show to block the view!

HA! That's too bad, Jimmy. But I've played to more empty rooms then I care to recall. If those walls could talk...or move, or pay my bar tab...

A few thoughts:

Nice Jelly Beans..............

If the White Stripes can do it...............

I've played my best stuff to the emptiest rooms................

2 piece? ala White Stripes & Black Keys?
I just don't get the whole 2 pc. thing :o

thanks for the moral support!
the 2 piece thing was out of necessity, we were a 4 piece and the other two guys went on to focus on their main bands.......so what the hell, try it as a two piece, right! It's fun, might play a handful of shows in a year (wish it was more)....and did I mention it was fun?!?

We did this for a while with my 'second' band. We even played 2 or 3 shows like that. We had a split signal coming from the guitar and wired that to a separate bass-amp. Sounded pretty good :)

....and did I mention it was fun?!?

Precisly! Because that, my friends, is why we all got into this to begin with; to have some fun.

Cheers!

What? Did everyone forget about that band Local H? As far as I remember, they did the 2 piece thing back in the early 90's. But I think they played along to sequenced bass parts. Still...the videos only had the two of them.

The Mother Brothers did two piece before most of them, without sequencing. I know. I was a Mother Brother.

I built this kit with Dennis at Phattie drums......ok, dennis did almost all the work but I helped some, drilled a couple of them and whatnot. This was a gift for my fiance' but she hardly ever plays it, so I take it to shows whenever I can.

the inital build was a 6pc, but I just built a 8" tom for it
here's the specs on the whole kit:
JellyBean Glass glitter, keller maple shells, aquarian heads, worldmax teardrop lugs
7x8 gold
8x10 green
10x12 silver
14x14 blue
16x16 tangerine
20x20 purple
6.5x14 tangerine

It actually works well in a jazz context: B-3 and drums

I've got a DVD with Papa Jo Jones and some dude on B3.....very nice!

Yes! On the DVD they do a tune called "Foolin' Around" (Messing Around?)

Also forgot to add, there are no Phattie badges on the kit, or his paper stickers on the inside.....just the Phattie Logo on the res head to give props to Dennis for all his help and for just being an all-round cool guy!!!

If it wasn't for Dennis I'd probably still just have that set of shells in a box waiting to be built.......but now, because of Dennis, I have boxes of shells waiting to be built! ha ha
