HOLY CRAP, Francis . . . . that looks about as professional as it can get without being . . . well ... professional.
What is the solid-looking base made out of ? (You could even put your own logo on the bottom of the base (ala "Roland"), give it that proprietary look.)
Did you simply paint the inside of the shell black? Any special finishing for the inside?
Do you have a trigger for the rim as well?
If so, are you planning on using a rubber ring for the rim?
AWESOME JOB, Bro . . . AWESOME JOB !!!!

Looks good, but how do you conect it to the module? Don't see any cable jacks.

Hi Tom and Everyone else,
Apologies for the lack of updates but I have been working flat out on the rest of the drums as well as all the other things I have to do around xmas time!!!!
Right, there are Jacks in there you will see them on other pictures I am sure once I get them off my camera. The set is now complete took 3 days in the end. I have a 12" kick a 12" tom 2 10" toms and a 12" snare.
The toms are all single trigger, as is the bass and the snare is a dual trigger.
The hoops are going to be vulcanised so there is a thick rubber coating on them, the mesh heads are hart dynamics and are very quiet. The bass is an extrustion of aluminium about 3mm in wall thickness so I could tap into it save using a bolt. I then fitted a section of nylon to the inside to stop the bolt coming loose, effectively like a nyloc nut! The plate is 6mm aluminium sitting on 2 rubber isolators. On the 12" version it is the same set up with just a spacer at the sides 1" either side holding the bvrackets out further.
The inside was finished with a matt black paint about 2 layers nothing fancy. I think thats about it. I used camping mat as the cone material very cheap and very very effective.
The bass drum looks very like the roland v kick with the legs either side and works very well. I will post pictures later today when I find my lead for the camera.
Thanks again guys hope that answers some of your questions!

um, im pretty sure spock from startrek does vucanizing these days...
heh, man, bill shatner is cool.
actually, i need to do this to my kit too. wouldn't mind seeing the FVF method, mostly because it makes mine look like something a 2 year old came up with.

tom, by "FVF method" I only meant the extremely professional and slick way francis is doing his e-drums. sorry for any confusion.

Ahhh ... I thought maybe there was some cool technique or process you were referring to that we could learn. Well, I guess you kind of were. ;)

What did you use for the main bar of the bridge?
http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c42/FVFDRUMS/DSC00212.jpg
I have been to Lowes and Home Depot, but I can't seem to find anything that is a "full rectangle" like the one you used.
Do you remember what the part is called at the store - so maybe I can find it?

Just curious, are you going to build an edrum set first, or are you starting with the acoustic?

I'm actually going to do both simultaneously. I will be ordering the deeper Keller maple tubes from AIT (24" depths) - thereby getting 2-3 shells out of each tube. I plan on my e-drum shells being about 7" in depth, with the e-bass drum(s) being 22"x7". (My acoustic bass drums will be 22"x"18").
The drums will all be the same color, same hardware - as I will plan to utilize some of the e-drums during live shows with the acoustic kit as well (kind of like Neil Peart - albeit perhaps not to the extent that Peart uses them).
