This is a stupid cheap price on these if they'd be any good with a kit.
I really don't know if they'd work or not.

I marched drum corps for 6 years . 2 of the 6 was in the cymbal line and we were ( those 2 years) sponsored by sabian ( 5 pair for winter camps + alldays , rehearsal pair and a show pair for tour, new show pari mid summer ). In my opinion they would be fine for a " mega rock ride " sound but for a crash, noway to much bell attack ( even on bow) . If I was gonna use anything sabian marching wise ( for marching or on the kit) it would be the HH new symphonics. Those were very nice. We did have a problem with the sabians totaly changing sound quality and tone so the next year ( after 2 years ) we went back to Zildjian. We never had sound quality problems ever with the same pair of cymbals from nov. - august.
Oh yea that may really figure into the sound is the AA drum corps are thick ( alittle heavy ) all of the Zildjians ( z-mac, stadium , --- whatever , were not as thick but way durable). The aa marching bands are basicaly the same as the drum corps but slightly lighter ( very slightly , not sure how they got away with selling 2 names like that).
Hope that helps

Sounds like Sabian gave your corps duds. My corps always got the best hand picked by our caption head and the top boys at Sabian. For a season we used 20" HH Mediums and they worked fantastic. Praised by all judges in the DCA community. Then we switched to 18" AA Drum Corps but ours weren't as heavy as the normal setup. I'm not a cymbal player but I was very close with our caption head. I'm quite sure Sabian made us custom cymbals. My old corps has a GREAT relationship with Sabian and has been using them exclusively for as many years as I can remember.

Each year they gave us a set of various cymbals for the front pit ensemble and IF we had a marching cymbal line that given year. At the end of that year they take those back, melt them down and make us a new set of whatever we want.

But as for those cymbals on sale...I wouldn't use them as crash cymbals at all...way too clangy and heavy. They would make a killer effects ride though. Very bright and pingy, definitely beyond the characteristics of a Ping Ride.
