By Visu-Lite.

got 16" and 18" Visu-Lite clear blue cymbals pretty cheap on eBay. The 18" has is a dual zone with a bell-thingy. They are both choke-able.

Now, ok, so I have an Alesis D4 module which doesn't support choking cymbals, but I assume WILL support the dual zone 18" ride?

Even if the answer is "no" I'm still not sure how I'm supposed to connect these. I'll also check with Pintech (now owns Visu-Lite) but I thought I'd ask here first. These cymbals have stereo wire jacks on them. There are two sets of red and black on each cymbal. Do I take 4 mono cords and snip the ends, expose the wire and plug 'em in there?

Or do I solder speaker wire to a stereo jack and connect plug to plug.

Or what?

Can I see a pic of what the wires and jacks look like?

All I know is that the Alesis takes all mono plugs, so if its just one jack that accepts a stereo cord, you might have some rewiring to do

You CAN do a chokable crash on the D4 if you connnect the cymbal's Choke Switch output to the HH FOOTSWITCH input on the rear panel, and the cymbal's trigger to Input #1. You then must assign a crash cymbal patch to the HH Open on Trigger #1, and a patch called "Silence" (last patch in the EFX bank) to the HH Pedal (closed). Normally, these are assigned to open and closed HH sounds, but if you follow these instructions, you can use your chokable crash. You will still need the stereo-mono breakout cable though. Now, if you are using an electronic HH, you are sunk.
