Hey, has anyone ever converted a set of roto-toms to be an electronic tom or snare?

Whenever I see a roto-tom, I think, man...that looks lust like the inside of one of those expensive Roland pads. Just replace the head with a mesh one and mount the piezo and cone to that central part.

I'm sure someone has done this...I'd just like to know how it works.

there really is not a lot more to it than that. Obviously you will want to make sure your soldering keeps your connections solid, but not much else is needed.
