I was browsing the web tonight looking for mesh heads when I came across this gem:

its a bit small, but think about it...you could remove the snare wires and mount the piezo and cone right to the dampener...adjusting the sensitivity and cone height externally by that little knob.

Has anyone used this before?

you could always buy a shell and buy an internal dampner which would do the same thing and you wouldnt be stuck with that size.

Skaman, I also like that it only has 4 lugs and comes with a mesh head. Its like a package deal. I was considering building a tom just like this for the purpose of this whole thing, then I found these...

Chippy, I think you're right, 8 is large enough to hit even on a really sloppy or fast fill haha, and will save some major space...
