I was wondering if any of you who have the Alesis DMPro or the Dm5 might have some pictures that show how it is attached to the rest of the set. I am currently keeping mine in the box until I can find a way to SAFELY mount it to the drum rack and need some ideas. I thought maybe some photos might help.

Thanks in advance.

I should have a practice tonight, meaning, I don't know if I will have time tonight. but will try. My older mount, I think they were both made by Hart(?), was better as it supported both holes on each side of the DM5/Pro. On my newer one, only the bottom got supported and I snapped it. I got some steel stock at the hardware store and made backing brackets, which fixed it.

Thanks

I am sure I can come up with a platform for the bottom and brackets for the sides, so I am also concerned with how best to mount it to the rack itself.

I can describe mine. It is a Gibralter rack. You get a T clamp. You hang a 2 foot section of tube off that, so it sticks out paralle to the floor. Hart makes two small brackets that slide up the tube and the DM mounts to those brackets. Very sturdy. The Hart unit has a/used to have a adjustment knob so you could loose it and tilt the DM up or down. Maybe reduce stage glare and such.

try this link. scroll down about half way. several of their kits picture Alesis mounted brains.
In their "products", they list the "Alesis mount". But then the picture didn't open for me.

Thanks for the response.

Actually, I think I have a much clearer picture of what it is going to take just
from your description. And best yet, all I will need is the bracket set from Hart
and one section of rack tube, since I just happen to have a spare T clamp.

yes, Hart sells just the 2 brackets. You know, the other neat thing about theirs, but you can do it. On the T-bracket, replace the t-rod with a thumb screw deal, so you can tip the unit with out using a tool. One of mine has it, the other doesn't.

HA! just looked at my original mount. DrumTech made it!! Look around at the Alternatemode.com web site. Same as the Hart.

Hard to see, but there is a big knob to adjust the tilt. Also, note the small home-made brackets to re-inforce it. One on each side of the Alesis bracket, with longer screws and nuts needed also. Couple more bucks, but well worth it. My entire rack gets shoved into my pickup truck bed about once a month and has not broken (except the first time...with out my reinforcements).

Thanks for the photo and the information. I have a pretty clear idea as to what to do now.
