....know what this is and what it does? Suggestions would be most welcome. It's called a Simmons Drum Hugger Slave and I am absolutely clueless about it.

I'm pretty sure that Hugger attaches to the drum rim somehow. Not sure if it has a XLR or 1/4" jack, but probably plugs directly to a module. It looks neat.

It's been so long that I've seen those!
If I remember correctly they came as a set.
Pads that you could attach to the rims.
A few "slaves" and one "master" (I hate these terms!).
I do not really remember if the master itself had sounds in it, though.
But I'm tempted to believe that.

I've done a bit of research and found out some more. Munich, you're spot on. Several 'slaves' and a 'master'. The master being a pad I believe as well as the central controller. Now, where can I get a master unit?

Yes, Stoovey, you're spot on as well. It has a spring loaded clamp for attaching to a drum rim. Normal 1/4" jack as far as I can tell.

Of course I don't know - but I think you have a good chance,
since you' re in England. You know, dusty corners in second hand music stores...
